It’s a Gender-Reversed World, But I Don’t Go Out Anyway – Chapter 67

House Viewing

“What the hell, why are they making this kind of stuff?”

Just looking at the first question, it was clear this content couldn’t be broadcasted.

Sorry, but I just took the 50,000 won and ran. I couldn’t risk getting my precious stream suspended for just 50,000 won.

Still, it was definitely effective.

My chat was completely flooded with comments about the “Ideal Type World Cup” game just now.

[Looks fun, I’m gonna go try it lol]

[But if a monk hooks up with a dryad, does that make him a fallen monk?]

[Wouldn’t that make him a Corrupted Power Monk?]

[This is getting deep…]

I sighed and opened the delivery app.

These days there are so many delivery apps that for someone indecisive like me, the selection time has gotten even longer since I end up opening one app, browsing through it, then checking another app again.

“Delivery fees have really gone up lately…”

Is it because of my house location, or do the delivery fees just happen to be high for all the restaurants I want to order from? Because of these fees, I end up only ordering from the same places I always do.

Even though I make decent money now, that old college student mindset remains, making me stingy with food expenses.

Yet I spend without hesitation on computer parts or games.

[Right, delivery fees are too expensive]

[No seriously wtf? Like okay, delivery fee? That’s understandable but those mfs who do “Free delivery for orders over 300,000 won” piss me off]

[That really is infuriating]

[Those bastards who deliberately set it up to appear first when sorting by lowest delivery fee, that’s some real scummy behavior fr]

My one comment sparked a fire.

Come to think of it, these viewers seem quite passionate about food. Well, Koreans in general are exceptionally serious about food. When meeting after a long time, it’s always “Let’s grab a meal.” Greetings are always “Have you eaten?”

That ancestral sincerity about food still remains as instinct.

[Honestly places charging 5,000 won delivery fee are basically profiting just from that]

[Ah whatever, Daeju is right, delivery fees are too expensive~]

[Why do we have to pay your delivery fees~ Back in my day we didn’t have anything like that~]

[Boomer has appeared *shiver*]

Thinking about it carefully, this flow wasn’t good for me.

There are so many small business owners in Korea these days. I could see several regular viewers who usually chat actively were holding back now.

My instincts told me I needed to get out of this.

“But~~! I understand the delivery fees because I know how hard small business owners have it in our country! Fighting, small business owners!”

[Huh? This guy’s making us look like the bad guys]

[Wait, isn’t this the same guy who started this whole thing…?]

[Ah whatever~ Fighting!!!]

[This guy knows where to draw the line lol]

[Knows how to handle himself lol]

It might have been a bit forced, but I managed to slip out of this chaos by raising the energy with that shout.

I almost had a new entry added under the [Controversies] section on some information website.

Hey, I’m ‘LoL GOLD’ after all. A man who knows when to dodge. I thought my handling of the situation by weaving in and out was excellent.

“With delivery apps… I end up only looking at places with coupons.”

[Fr and most places with coupons are franchises so the taste is somewhat guaranteed]

[So what are you ordering?]

[Why do you want to know?]

[If we order the same thing… wouldn’t that be like a date?]

[This guy’s being kinda cringe lol but out of all the chat messages I’ve seen today, yours was the most disgusting… 100 points!]

[???ㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠ]

After browsing around, since I hadn’t had it in a while and wanted something easy to eat while streaming, I ordered boneless chicken.

With so many chicken franchises, it seems like there are always discount coupons available year-round, even if the brands change.

Good for someone like me.

“I ordered boneless chicken”

After answering the chat asking what I ordered, this sparked another fight.

[You bastard, are you crazy?]

[Boneless? You don’t even have the basics down]

[Is that really something to curse about? Boneless is tasty too]

[Fr there’s barely any difference lol if anything boneless gives you more meat]

[From today on, I’ll consider boneless chicken eaters as my ‘enemies’. I’ll debone you all and make you boneless]

“Why are you fighting again? I’m just ordering it because it’s easier to eat with chopsticks while streaming.”

It was like watching a warrior race, how they’d jump at any hint of an argument. I wondered if this was what the Saiyans in Dragon Ball were like.

What’s more frustrating is that when I occasionally see verification photos, it seems many of them lead more normal social lives than me.

[But there’s no hand flavor[1] with boneless]

[People obsessed with hand flavor be like) Gets beaten up by their mom everyday because they love hand flavor too much]

[But I don’t have a mom…]

[Girl above be like) Even if it seems like she’s not there, your mother is always there stroking your back and comforting you, don’t worry]

[No I mean she’s at the bathhouse lol]

[Holy shit you scared me you orphan bastard lololol]

It was peaceful chat but both got 10-minute chat bans.

Because I got scared too.

“I’ll coast through the stream until the chicken arrives”

[Now he’s admitting it]

[One-trick pony with the bulletin board]

[A streamer’s bulletin board that’s more famous than the streamer himself?]

[Here it is]

[But this streamer will probably coast through even after the chicken arrives]

For someone like me who doesn’t keep up with news, this place was my news, newspaper, and information source. Of course, I had to filter through the content here too, but hey, even internet articles need to be filtered these days, so what can you do?

***

[Watching Yeonhee’s stream right now, what’s up with this girl?]

Got a message from Daeju and she’s playing horror games all excited, giggling while playing

She’s seriously crazy lol keeps randomly laughing even while playing horror games and laughs at ghosts too wtf lol

[Comments]

Oh was that why she was laughing? I was seriously scared thinking she got possessed by a ghost

ㄴ Fr the ghost wasn’t scary but this crazy girl lol

Isn’t Yeonhee good enough to hit on Daeju?

ㄴ???

ㄴ She’s loaded with money, same industry, similar personality to Daeju, and pretty decent looking

ㄴ Money earned from cursing isn’t a plus, having similar personality to Daeju isn’t a good point, face is decent but she makes too many face-related jokes which is a problem

***

“Oh really?”

I couldn’t help but laugh imagining that scene, which came to mind all too easily.

It was even funnier thinking how we’d both probably freeze up and stutter when we actually meet, considering we’re both second to none among streamers when it comes to being “bedroom warriors.”[2]

Either way, I felt proud.

It would be weird not to feel good about someone being excited to meet me.

I found myself unconsciously straightening my shoulders.

[You’re going to do a house viewing stream with Yeonhee, right?]

[Is that allowed?]

[Since you’re using money from viewers to get the house, don’t we have some ownership stake too?]

[That? Sounds? Kind of? Right?]

“Well… if Yeonhee is okay with it… I’ll think about it”

[Getting an expensive place]

[How much would be enough]

[How much do you have]

[About 7,000 won?]

[Just go eat some jjajangmyeon instead of trying to act rich]

Speaking of which, when I asked Yeonhee, she immediately replied saying it was fine.

The reply was pretty quick for someone who’s supposed to be streaming, wasn’t she playing a horror game earlier?

“I got permission but I’ll still make it subscriber-only chat”

[Are you collecting money for moving?]

[I thought that might be the case but this is too much]

[You bastard]

[Yay~ I have lots of points because my bets against the odd hit twice~]

[Non-subscribers are chatting too lol]

Why switch to subscriber-only chat?

I’m okay with them cursing at me. Well, actually I’m not okay with it but I can endure it.

But no matter how I think about it, it would be hard to endure during a collab stream.

It’s not like subscribers don’t curse, but there are clearly fewer of them, and since there are relatively fewer people, it’s easier to manage the chat with timeouts or bans.

Come to think of it, Yeonhee’s viewers aren’t exactly gentle either, and she probably doesn’t even react to most curses, but there’s a difference between having thick skin and enjoying getting hit.

The chicken arrived at my door and I ate while looking for a good time to end the stream.

The next morning.

After contacting in advance, we were able to quickly arrange to look around houses.

After getting in touch, Yeonhee was on her way, and I was preparing for the stream in my own way.

Although I never show my face, it would be difficult to completely avoid exposure during today’s stream. So I took out a mask and hat to hide myself somewhat.

It’s not perfect but this should be enough.

I thought Yeonhee would come alone but she said she’s bringing her manager.

I’m not sure what kind of manager, but from what she explained, there’s someone assigned to her from her MCN, basically a YouTuber agency, who knows a lot about real estate. Going from 2 to 3 people made it feel like we were forming a real estate party, which felt reassuring.

Actually, both Yeonhee and I become as helpless as sunfish when we go outside, dying at the slightest thing, so we probably needed the help.

I walked down the stairs as soon as I received the text.

And there was a car on the street. There was a sharp-looking person in the driver’s seat, and Yeonhee was in the back seat.

…probably?

I couldn’t see inside well from the outside.

“Please get in the back”

Unable to refuse the female manager’s words, I immediately got into the back seat.

That was my plan anyway.

I wasn’t nervous.

“Ah… hello…”

“Hello…”

When I opened the back door, Yeonhee awkwardly smiled and gave a small bow in greeting. I returned the greeting with an equally awkward smile.

A strange sense of kinship mixed with awkwardness created an inexplicable atmosphere.

How could this incredibly shy person act like that during streams?

Maybe Yeonhee was thinking the same about me?

For the first house, they said the owner would show us around directly instead of a real estate agent.

Yeonhee and I somehow managed to break the awkward atmosphere by talking about that. The destination wasn’t far from home.

The owner said they’d wait outside after being contacted in advance, but who could it be?

“Huh? Huh? Huh??”

“What, what is it Daeju-nim?”

A burly man who looked like he could easily bench press 500 was standing there with a phone andㅡ

Riiiiiing~

My phone was ringing.
