[Blue Archive] I am the Trinity Checkpoint Chief – Bonus 3.2

Side Story: I Am Gehenna’s Chief Advisor (2)

Some claim Gehenna’s students resist the Pandemonium Society’s total war measures.

That we don’t want total war but surrender!

I ask: Do you want total war? If needed, a war more total and radical than anything imaginable?

Now is the time, students, to rise and unleash the storm of history yourselves!

Pandemonium Society Minutes

***

Ahh—life is fleeting after all.

I restored crumbling authority and turned the tide, but nothing changed. No, something did.

Asking a frail girl to seek divine salvation is impossible. Do you know how shocking it is for a nation—or academy—to fall, per history? No matter how devastating the blow, it’s still a nation, an academy.

The frontlines, tangled in chaos, thickened. The heretics realized their fate only after hitting our defenses.

At that moment, the war ended.

When the Tea Party rose and Gehenna rallied its forces, the offense and defense swapped. Sadly, our defense was weaker.

When Makoto-senpai returned and sorted things out, the name “Arius” vanished.

My involvement was limited to declaring martial law, issuing mobilization orders, and securing General Student Council support. Thinking about it, I also let capable Prefect Team members occupy the Royal Artillery.

At least I know my limits. I lack the ability to command such forces.

But I did save Makoto-senpai by shredding documents, didn’t I? Thanks to that, I got a generous cocoa budget and praise from Ibuki—what a great deal!

—Or so I thought. I should’ve known when I was named Artillery Commander.

Iroha keeps dumping Makoto-senpai’s cleanup on me, and my Chief Advisor resignation keeps getting rejected.

I’m not an official slave— isn’t this too much?

“If you’re that upset, tell Makoto-senpai directly, Hikari. Whining to me won’t help.”

“She doesn’t listen! She always does whatever she wants.”

I remember writing speeches for Makoto-senpai, thinking I was talented.

Damn it, I shouldn’t have.

Before the Eden Treaty Incident’s storm hit, Makoto-senpai was both praised and condemned. She cleared her charges but was too incompetent.

She called herself a “star who drives fans and haters wild” and was thrilled.

Why, though?

“…I don’t have time for this. Iroha, tell the kids to dig trenches.”

“Yes, yes, understood.”

Back to damn Trinity. Post-Eden Treaty, Misono Mika’s Tea Party played dress-up.

Under media guidelines, they said, “I’m a pacifist, I’m a democrat.”

I foolishly believed them. After a political upheaval, stability seemed logical.

The two mighty academies signed a historic non-aggression pact.

Let’s ignore that the paper became worthless in two days. My admitted mistake.

Damn it.

Mika lacks common sense. She really invaded, I swear.

Thanks to her, Gehenna got screwed.

No, we’re still getting screwed.

Fortunately, our academy responded swiftly. Under suspiciously trusting Director Hina, the Enabling Act passed, delegating all war powers to the Prefect Team.

Except the Royal Guard’s command—Makoto-senpai’s last pride.

Oddly, wartime strengthens the nominal upper house, the Advisory Council. My strong push handed over the artillery.

They’re capable, so I hope they use it well.

The issue, as always, comes from the Pandemonium Society. The Royal Guard, still under command, was sent to the frontlines toward the Pandemonium Society’s assembly, but Makoto-senpai lost nearly half.

Damn it, what’s wrong that even competent operators cause disasters?

Military science says a unit losing over 30% combat strength can’t function. By that, the Royal Guard defending our great Gehenna Student Council is decimated.

So… so, well. Here we are.

All remaining Royal Guards are at the frontline, commanded by me and Iroha.

I thought I’d at least graduate alive.

Damn Schulamferei-like student council.

So I just pray.

May God be with us.

Bang, ba-bang!

In a pitiful forest, lights flickered. Since lifting firing rate limits, the MG3 is the Royal Guard’s core firepower.

Trinity students in berets ducked for cover from bullets.

Haha, suck it! If it’s too much, try breaking our triple trench line!

Crusader tanks, speeding on open ground, were useless in the forest. Poor tank commanders, unable to use anti-trench weapons, were neutralized by Iroha’s tank or hidden 8.8cm Flak anti-tank guns.

Free from Makoto-senpai’s proud command, the Royal Guard did its job.

Frontline trench report—uh, what tank is that?!

…But Trinity was more capable.

Scout report: That crazy bastard’s breaking the trenches!

A tank unlike the Crusader, with a massive frame and cylindrical turret on wide tracks. I swear, no one, including me, recognized this new model.

Collecting new tank models is Satsuki-senpai’s job, not a Chief Advisor’s.

And the one fact I needed to know:

I saw it—that damn tank shrugged off our all-purpose anti-tank guns!

The balance tipped instantly. Trinity, led by the new tank, broke one, two trench lines. An unyielding fortress—its armored might on full display.

I felt like Arius during the Eden Treaty Incident.

A massive howitzer roared at me: Die, you damn Gehenna girl!

BOOM—!

Get up.

Get up!

“—Damn it! Ugh—damn it, really!”

I barely got up. The trench line was chaos. Scattered Royal Guard members, cratered shell holes, and Trinity tanks charging to crush everything.

Iroha was nowhere in sight. With gunfire raging, she’s likely in fierce combat.

No time to think why I’m suffering.

I’ve done some social maneuvering. I’ve got enough sense to know that.

Though my first time, I’ll take responsibility befitting my authority.

Haha, damn Eden Treaty.

Looks like I need to decide again.

A whistle on my cyan uniform’s corner.

Covered in dirt from rolling in the trench, I didn’t care and blew it.

Probably with all the strength of my childhood.

Whiiii—eek!

Was anyone around? I don’t recall.

Still, I shouted.

“Long live Gehenna—!”

Grenade in hand,

I climbed the trench.

Damn it, charge—!

It's not like it's a story about beating Gehenna with bagpipes... but is being the chief of the checkpoint an easy job?
