Louisa pulled her fangs from Karen’s neck, stepping back silently, frowning as she picked gray wolf fur from her teeth.
When the boss said she could taste werewolf blood, she’d been thrilled—legends rivaling vampires, after all.
But biting down? A mouthful of furry regret. Who knew how much fur she’d swallowed…
Nearby, a Puffshroom gracefully sprinkled spores on the dazed, drained Karen. Mycelium seeped into her skin, starting to weave.
[Fusion Parasite LV8] now needed only 20% blood loss, not near-death like before.
Plenty of ways to drop blood, but Louisa’s bite was the least painful.
So, Lin Jun named Piggy the Mushroom Garden’s “blood-drawing nurse.” Only downside? No nurse outfits in this world. Maybe priest robes would do?
As the bonding finished, Little Blue’s voice echoed in Karen’s mind: “I feel you in the Mycelial Network. Hear me?”
Karen, weak, cracked her eyes, glancing at Little Blue staring excitedly. She felt the strange web linking her. “Yeah… I hear you.”
The other wolves went through the same “rite,” proudly becoming “half-mushroom wolves.” Louisa, meanwhile, rolled a small furball from her teeth’s haul.
Once the wolves recovered, Lin Jun kept his promise—showing them the real sun and moon!
Before leaving, he warned, “It might be chilly out there. Want coats?”
The wolves, bare-chested except for tattered pants, scoffed. Even Karen trusted her thick fur.
“Chilly? I’ve never felt cold!” Little Blue boasted, others nodding.
Half an hour later, through the reopened Stone Fortress rift, the wolves learned what “new sensation” meant.
“S-s-so… c-cold!” Little Blue hugged himself, teeth chattering, sniffing hard.
Gotta keep the snot from freezing, like that poor wolf next to him, nose plugged solid.
“Where… is this? Why so cold?” Karen shivered, miserable.
“Far North Icefield. Guess that means nothing to you… Here, hold this!” A demonkin led over Digging Puffshrooms, handing one to each wolf.
The Puffshrooms’ steady heat warmed their stiff bodies as they clutched them tight.
“Big Mushroom’s a total lifesaver…” Little Blue buried his face in the warm Puffshroom, sighing deeply.
In this new place, the wolves’ curiosity reignited, launching “ten thousand whys” mode. Stone Fortress statues, bricks, icicles—anything new got sniffed and questioned.
Finally, they stepped into the open canyon, looking up at three massive, glowing moons sinking in the sky. Silence fell.
The moons’ cold, mystic light gripped them, stirring a primal pulse in their blood.
“Awooo—”
One wolf’s howl broke the quiet. Others joined, their wild, echoing cries rippling through the canyon.
Their hulking forms swelled visibly, muscles bulging, aura fiercer.
Their panels updated:
[Full Moon (Strength and Agility +10%)]
Moon-boosted power? Fine.
Problem was, those three “disks” up there never waxed or waned—always full moons!
Weird status name…
Their excited howls shattered the quiet, waking captives in Mushroom Garden No. 3.
Bastardos, half-demon leader, sat at his crude captive hut’s edge, muttering toward the noise. “Lizardmen, demonkin, vampires, dragonkin… now werewolves? This is the real demon camp…”
“Roar!”
A piercing dragon roar from the Stone Fortress drowned the howls.
The wolves’ cries cut off, like their throats were grabbed.
Little Black, head poking from her mushroom hut, checked the quiet, satisfied, then ducked back for her nap. A growing dragon needed twelve hours of sleep daily.
Little Black dozed, but Norris was wide awake.
Wolf howls were faint from afar, but Little Black’s roar, so close, shook his guts, killing any chance of sleep.
Grumbling, Norris trudged to the canyon entrance, bleary-eyed. “What the heck’s going—”
“Little Lizard!” Karen’s voice boomed in his mind via the Mycelial Network, thrilled.
[Mating standard reached.] The Yellow Codex’s words sank Norris’s heart.
He looked up. Under moonlight, Karen, now nearly eight feet tall, charged toward him.
As she spread her arms for a “loving” hug, Norris dodged with a jolt.
“What’s wrong?” Karen looked puzzled.
“Uh… Karen,” Norris flailed, panicking, “we’re different races. This… close stuff might not be right…”
“Oh! Got it!” Karen’s eyes dimmed, voice low. “If you don’t want it, I’ll just…”
Her dejection softened Norris. He opened his mouth to comfort her but froze, clueless.
[Attack urge spiking. Here it comes!]
“What?” Norris stared at the Yellow Codex, confused, as a wolf claw sliced the air.
No longer the weak miner boy, Norris ducked fast, the claw grazing his head.
He backed off, shocked and mad. “Karen! What’re you doing?!”
[Idiot! The strong get mating rights. Basic stuff!]
“What kinda rule is that?!”
But werewolf rules were clear. Karen flicked her claws, dead serious. “Don’t worry, Norris! I’ll just knock you out, not hurt you bad!”
“Boss! Boss?” No answer, as expected.
Norris knew his boss’s twisted humor. If Karen tried to kill him, the boss would step in. But “mating”? The boss was probably watching, loving the show!
If caught, would the boss save him? Norris wouldn’t bet on it…
Allies like Blood Sis, Black Sis, or Qióng were nowhere near. He was on his own.
“Damn it!” Norris never imagined fighting for his chastity. “Jida!”
Boom boom boom—
Heavy steps thundered like war drums from the Stone Fortress’s dark halls.
Next moment, four-meter-tall Jida burst from the shadows, charging with unstoppable force!
(End of Chapter)
Poor norris……
Damn i wish it were me.
